Village Academy is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board is composed of professionals who are friends of the School and whose expertise helps guide the School in implementing its philosophy and goals. The Board approves the operating and capital budgets and oversees campus real estate, long-range physical and strategic planning, and the fiscal stability of the School.
Board members attend meetings regularly, which in turn correlates with their sense that the meetings are useful and productive, and that their ideas are valued; Board Trustees ideally will represent differing perspectives.
The Trustees exercise ongoing review and approval concerning changes in major policies, admission, tuition, and fees, and are also responsible for appointing the Head of School. The Board as a whole meets quarterly and on an as-needed basis. Committee meetings are scheduled based on committee assignment and length of the project. The Trustees are engaged participants and committed to the continuing successful operation and advancement of the School.
